17th Hong Kong 3,000m Water Safety Long Distance Swim (2025)

**Eligibility:**  
Open to members of the Hong Kong Swimming Teachers’ Association, certified swimming instructors, individuals recommended by a member, or those with proven long-distance swimming endurance. Individual participants and group leaders must read and acknowledge the Liability Declaration. Participants under 18 must obtain parental/guardian consent.  

**Insurance Requirements:**  
- Age limit: 3–80 years old  
- Participants aged 3–4 must be accompanied in the water by a parent, guardian, or coach.  
- Participants aged 65+ must provide a doctor’s certification confirming their fitness for long-distance swimming.  

**Rewards:**  
All finishers will receive an e-certificate and a commemorative pack, including a towel, a finisher’s medal, and sponsor gifts.

**Note:**  
- The **Bronze/Silver/Gold/Diamond Medal** reward scheme will be discontinued starting 2025. Previous consecutive participants may still claim medals under the existing system.  
- **Group awards** include:  
  - **"Largest Participation Group Award"** (based on registered numbers by the deadline).  
  - **"Overseas Support Team Award"** (for overseas groups with ≥15 participants).  
  - **"Inclusive Participation Award"** (for groups involving persons with special needs).  
  - Winners will be notified via SMS/email and must collect awards at the designated time.  

**Cancellation Policy:**  
- The event will be canceled if:  
  - Amber/Red/Black rainstorm warnings or tropical cyclone signals are issued by 6:00 AM on the event day.  
  - Thunderstorm warnings are issued after the event starts (subject to the organizer’s discretion).  
  - Unforeseen incidents (e.g., weather hazards, damaged facilities, shark sightings, red tides) compromise safety.  
- **No refunds** will be issued for cancellations. Updates will be posted on [www.hksta.com.hk](http://www.hksta.com.hk).  

**Additional Notes:**  
- Participants must read the event guidelines and sign the **Liability Declaration**.  
- For participants under 18, parental/guardian consent is mandatory (including group registrations).  
- No changes to participant details after registration. Distance changes before the deadline incur a HKD $50 fee.  
- Personal data will only be used for event registration. Fees are non-refundable once confirmed.  
- Participants consent to photography/videography for promotional purposes.  
- The organizer reserves the right to amend rules without prior notice.

**Individual Participants:**  
I have read all terms of the *17th Hong Kong 3,000m Water Safety Long Distance Swim (2025)* and agree to abide by the swimming rules and instructions from the organizers. I acknowledge the risks involved and accept full responsibility for any consequences arising from my participation. I confirm that I am in good health, proficient in swimming, and medically fit for the event. The organizers shall not be liable for any injury or fatality due to my negligence, inadequate skill, or health conditions.

**Parent/Guardian Consent (for under 18):**  
I consent to my child/ward’s participation and confirm they meet the health and skill requirements. The organizers shall not be liable for any harm caused by their negligence or health conditions.

**Group Registration:**  
Our group confirms that all listed swimmers have authorized this registration and understand the event rules and risks. We declare that all participants are medically fit and proficient swimmers. The organizers shall not be liable for any incidents caused by individual swimmers’ negligence or health issues.

Since 2012, with the strong support of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the **Hong Kong Life Saving Society** and **Hong Kong Swimming Teachers’ Association** have designated **May 1st as "Hong Kong Water Safety Day."** Through this annual event, we unite water sports organizations to promote safety awareness, reduce accidents, and advocate for the value of life before the swimming season begins.
